On the first day of testimony in Donald Trump’s election interference (aka “hush money”) trial in New York, the defendant sat ruefully contemplating his fate. When he wasn’t nodding off, he is reported to have appeared tired and annoyed as the opening statements were delivered.

Trump’s attorney embarked on a bold strategy to argue that reimbursing his lawyer for a $130,000.00 payment to buy the silence of a porn star in order to improperly influence an election, then lying about it on his financial reports, had nothing to with him. Of course not. He’s just a pure-hearted, selfless, martyr trying to save America.

As the trial proceeds, Trump is undergoing some severe stress and annoyance at how his MAGA cult is failing to sufficiently support him in his hour of need. On Monday morning he took to his floundering social media scam, Truth Social, to whip them into shape and incite them into taking more forceful action on his behalf. Trump wrote that…
“America Loving Protesters should be allowed to protest at the front steps of Courthouses, all over the Country, just like it is allowed for those who are destroying our Country on the Radical Left, a two tiered system of justice. Free Speech and Assembly has been ‘CHILLED’ for USA SUPPORTERS. GO OUT AND PEACEFULLY PROTEST. RALLY BEHIND MAGA. SAVE OUR COUNTRY! ‘THE ONLY THING YOU HAVE TO FEAR IS FEAR ITSELF.'”
Trump is implying that “America Loving” protesters (which in his noxious narcissism means “Trump loving”) are not being “allowed” to gather to support him. But who is stopping them? There just isn’t any real enthusiasm among his minions to show up. So in his dismay over the tepid turnout, Trump is trying to fire up his flock the way he did on January 6, 2021, for the insurrection at the Capitol. Only this time he wants them to crash courthouses across the country.
It’s a safe bet that Trump will not get his wish. There have not been any notable demonstrations at any of the trials or hearings held for Trump in the past. Protesters have regularly been outnumbered by reporters. Which, while it’s something that Trump enjoys to exploit, it doesn’t translate into support or, eventually, votes. To the contrary, it is likely alienating more people, who increasingly find Trump to be repugnant and unrelatable. And that’s despite the characterization that Trump’s lawyer made about him in court Monday morning…

That’s interesting. Several Republican controlled states are outlawing protests. It’s a pretty clear double standard.
Maybe it’s because anyone who was willing to get arrested for him, is already in jail. They don’t know how to peacefully protest, and, obviously, he didn’t learn anything from the last fiasco he led.
Trump (R) is hoping another 151 Police Officers will be attacked and beaten with his Flag, and American flags that were torn down on January6, 202, by those Losers he egged on. Did all two, of them show up and attack the Police? Why not? Maybe he didn’t ‘tweet’ loud enough… oh yeah he was Banned from Twitter the platform, for inciting violence….
First day of the Trump trial, 3 MAGA showed up to protest. Second day of the trial, 1 showed up. Third and subsequent days, no one showed up. 85 million New York Trump voters and no one could be bothered to show up at their local courthouse. They just don’t care. Apparently Trump is just finding out you can request your followers fight on your behalf, send you money every time you send them a fundraising mail. There’s a limit. Lots are not going to do jail time for Donald. Older people who voted Trump and have donated to his campaign — I hope they read the fine print. I read of one older man who got a monthly Social Security check automatically deposited into his bank. He had charged a $100 donation and didn’t see the fine print where paying by authorizing them to take it out of his bank account authorized them to take it out weekly. He didn’t know until the bank called to tell him they were closing his account — no cash.
He STOLE a well-known comment from FDR! ‘The only thing we have to fear is Fear itself.’ That was about WWII. Not Trump’s phony version of America.
What Trump actually said was, “The only thing YOU have to fear is fear itself,” implying that he’s afraid of nothing. He wants his listeners to be scared.
